Kennedy in 1963, but no official link was ever made.\r\n\r\nHe was born of Italian parents in 1910 and was brought to Louisiana as a baby. Mr. Marcello, who was called Little Man because he was 5 feet 2 inches tall, became known in the New Orleans area in the heyday of open gambling in suburban Jefferson Parish in the 1940's. \r\n\r\nBy the 1950's and 60's, the police and national publications were calling him the head of organized crime in Louisiana and along the Gulf Coast, although he always insisted he was just a tomato salesman.\r\n\r\nHe was deported to Guatemala in 1961, but made his way back into the United States. He fought deportation for the remainder of his life, a battle made easier because no other country would agree to accept him.\r\n\r\nIn 1981 in California, he was convicted of conspiring to bribe a Federal judge and was sentenced to seven years in prison.\r\n\r\nIn 1982, in Louisiana, he was convicted of conspiracy to violate Federal racketeering laws under an indictment charging mail fraud.\r\n\r\nHe was sentenced to another seven years in prison, but the Supreme Court invalidated the mail fraud statute under which he was prosecuted.", "website": null, "end_date": "1993-03-00", "parent_id": null, "extensions": {"Person": {"party_id": null, "gender_id": 2, "name_last": "Marcello", "name_nick": null, "net_worth": null, "birthplace": null, "name_first": "Carlos", "name_maiden": null, "name_middle": null, "name_prefix": null, "name_suffix": null, "nationality": [], "is_independent": null}, "BusinessPerson": {"sec_cik": null}}, "start_date": "1910-00-00", "updated_at": "2020-02-15T21:53:15Z", "primary_ext": "Person"}}
